From the daily Wal Fadjri, launched in 1984, Sidy Lamine Niasse (1950-2018) set up the Walf group which includes the people daily Walf Grand Place and Walf Sports, (these two dailies having since been bought out) the Walf TV channel, the Walf FM station and the website www.walf-groupe.com, accessible on PCs and smartphones.

It is one of the most powerful press groups in Senegal
